These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the AvoKai mobile application ("the App"), provided by Flavio Andrade, an independent developer ("we", "us"). By downloading, accessing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The service

AvoKai is a nutrition and calorie tracking app. It uses AI to estimate the nutritional content of food from photos, nutrition labels, barcodes and text or voice descriptions, and helps you track meals, exercise and weight against goals you set.

2. Not medical advice

AvoKai is a general wellness and informational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, diagnosis or treatment.

• Calorie targets, macro targets, BMI figures and calorie-burn numbers are estimates produced by generic formulas and AI models.
• AI nutrition estimates from photos and descriptions are approximations and can be materially wrong. Do not rely on them where accuracy matters medically.
• Always consult a qualified physician or registered dietitian before starting any diet, weight-loss or exercise programme, and especially if you are pregnant, under 18, have a history of an eating disorder, diabetes, a food allergy, or any other medical condition.
• If you have a food allergy or intolerance, never rely on the App to determine whether a food is safe for you. Check the actual product packaging.

3. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to use the App.
• Creating an account is optional and exists to back up and sync your data. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. Wrong inputs produce wrong targets.

4. Subscriptions and payment

• Some features require a paid subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple ID.
• Prices, billing periods and any free-trial or introductory terms are shown in the App before you confirm the purchase.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
• Managing and cancelling: manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Free trials: any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
